SHE WATCHED! Stolen Generation!

She watched through her heart of pain
as the children cried
She watched the nightmares unfold
as abuse was ripe
She watch the segregation of the two,the dark and light,
as they tried to wipe out the colour
She watched darkness draw near
as the children began to cry
She watched the pain in their eyes
and they silently begged to be saved
She watched them treated like dogs
as food was thrown on the floor
She watched as they scampered like mice
as there would be no more!
She watched the hatred in their faces
as they beat the child
She watched through huge glass doors
and wished they would break
She watched them pin her arms behind a chair
as food was shoved in her throat
as they forced her to eat their food
She watched them come for her accross the hall
and cary her by her ears
She watched the pain in their eyes
as they pleaded for someone to help
but the cries went unheard
She watched her heart destroy
as the injustice went untold

SHE WATCHED! Stolen Generation! by

This is about the experience of being in the homes with the stolen generation, as DOCS and the Australian Government were taking children by the thousands away from their families for no apparent reason… Australian history is very vaige when it comes to ABORIGINAL HISTORY, we as a race know it was a GENOCIDE!
This is my experience, this is what I watched and endured, there is more, but that is another STORY to tell … This took place 1973- 1974

aboriginal, churches, genocide, government, heartache, hurt, national disgrase, sadness, torture

My grandfather taught me how to do Aboriginal dot paintings he instilled tradition and a proudness of my heratidge, My grangmother was waradjuri tribe one of the biggest tribes of New South Wales (Australia), My grandmother decends from the murry’s and roses, she was from the stolen generation… I paint real places in Australia every painting has a story or purpose , MY FAMILY, MY PEOPLE, MY LAND !!!

Gut wrenching, but needful writing…dark ecstacy, unfortunately, is always around us.

  • It was an experience that I would not want repeated, now it sees like a whole other world away… I spent many years trapped in an eternal nightmare, I had to confront my demons when I was 28, this place still exists but it is now a home for severly handicaped children, the part in the poem of force feedings and arms behind chair as well as being carried by the ears that is what happened to me, the rest I wittnessed… It was a very heart renching time in my life, but having experience (Whitnessed) this, I grew up with a lot of compassion in my heart, so something good did coe out of HELL… Thankyou so much for your beautiful comment, I thankyou from the bottom of my heart friend, and yes it must be told … xox Lesley xox …

Yes, it must be told. Unfortunately it will repeat. Until we learn that we are one and that we belong to the earth, we arrive with nothing and leave with nothing. We share different aspects of cultural histories. I too was removed as a child along with my family and like you I’ve grown up with compassion in my heart. To that extent I have no regrets. My life needs me to live it. Good writing from you. Thank you

  • Thanking abigcat from the bottom of heart for such a beautiful comment, this was such a long time ago but one I fully remember well. I have done many years of healing to be the person I am today, I can gladly say to myself I like who I AM! . Thankyou once again for stopping by, sending you love and light my friend … xox Lesley xox …
