Thank God for a little sunshine
To ease us from the rain,
Thank God for the pitter-patter,
To cool the dusty plain—
It really doesn’t matter
Which blessing, all grant us gain,
Once they’re straight from the Master,
We know that it’s time they came’
So lift up your heads, be hopeful,
Don’t focus on your pain,
But stay strong in the sweet longing,
In the fulfilled promise when Jesus came,
And set your eyes in the distance,
For soon He’ll come again—

In His coming we’ll find a constant,
A constant Love nothing can drain,
When each man will have the assurance
Of the end of death and pain,
When we’ll live in the fulfillment
Of the new earth, where sin can never stain,
Where never in seeking for sunshine,
We’ll find we’re all drenched with rain—
Set your eyes in the distance,
Open your heart for systems’ change,
Out of work, or sick, or lonesome,
Oh no! Systems will change,
For Jesus has been preparing our mansions,
And His coming’s not long again!
