Common Brown Morpho – Antirrhea philoctetes avernus
Antirrhea miltiades Fabricius 1793
A genus endemic to neotropical lowland and mid-elevation forest understorey. Although they do not exhibit the iridescent blue dorsal wing surfaces of Morpho, members of Antirrhea are quite large, and some species have rows of lavender spots on their hindwing margins.
