Pantoporia perius (Linnaeus)
A somewhat common butterfly of 60-70 mm. Upper surface of the wings blackish brown with white marks. Upper surface of the fore wing with three white streaks and a fourth triangular one beyond the three from the basal portion towards the middle of the wing. Upper surface of the hind wing with prominent row of black spots on the inner edge of the white spots situated in the middle area of the wing. Lower surface of wing bright yellow. This butterfly is generally found in open areas. Recorded from Shillong and Umran during July – September.
