It was the 5th grade in Kaiserslautern Germany. We had a substitute teacher who got bored with just giving us assignments. She had nothing else to do so she began drawing the portraits of the students. I remember handing in my assignment and was mezmorized by what she was doing and so well. I said right then, “I am going to do that.”

The following year as my father saw me practicing on everything to draw, he bought me my first drawing book. I studied that one book so much it was coming off its binding. Since then I took art classes in my last year of high school and a few in college. I liked it but never thought I would still be drawing as much as I do now.

So far all of my pieces have been done by freehand. I would like to get into digital art. When I do I will make those descriptions clear. My favorite medium used to be graphite but I have been favoring pen and ink. I have dabbled in pastels, colored pencils and learned new things with gel pens. I am still learning – aren’t we all?
