Well, here I am back in the internet cafe at Riverside Mall, Nelspruit, South Africa. I’ve just spent 45 minutes persuading a brown&white “paint” horse called Puzzel (no typo, that’s his name!) to trot, canter and not throw me off, so I’m at least enjoying the air conditioning right now.
The golden dragon is now full-size in hopes that someone, somewhere will want to have him on their wall. I’m also uploading some other fractals if this network connection doesn’t slow down any more.
Speaking of prints, I had ‘Alien TV’ printed on sticky vinyl (my neighbours happen to do large-format printing) and mounted it last night. It looks pretty good! I’ve always liked working in light-emitting mediums, like computer screens. Printed versions of my work never seems to have quite the same impact, but this glossy vinyl print actually looks good enough to satisfy even me!
Edit – 30 minutes later: This connection is useless! It times out or something and all that’s moving is the little counter ticking away my money. I don’t know how one is supposed to do anything online. This place surely has ADSL? My satellite connection at home seems to be more reliable, but it’s got that 500mb/month volume cap. Sigh. I wish we could get rid of our telecomunications monopoly here!
I’m giving up, sorry, will upload some stuff end of the month then, from home!
