Haymakers - On the Darling Downs near Warwck Qld. by

A few old-timers doing what used to happen regularly in the “Days of Horses and Steam” or in this case just plain old horses. These faithful hard working animals were the backbone of the agricultural industry even after the turn of the last century. When I was whippersnapper living on a farm near Byron Bay on the North coast N.S.W we used two Clydesdales for ploughing and other work.
The two seen here with their driver, were at a demonstration day of how farm work was done yesteryear. In this pic, painted in PSCS2, from a photo taken on the day, they are mowing lucern (alfalfa to our American cousins). Hence the title “Haymakers”
I am sure the younger, more fossil fuel burning machinery generations would have learnt much from this show. Totally solar powered and absolutely renewable energy, with useful by-products along the way.
