ants forming a bridge by stretching out and holding to each other across a section of our gate.
I was really amazed at how each ant participated in that bridge building activity. If you look at closely at the ant in the middle, it is fully stretched end to end with two others ants holding to it at both ends. Wow! I was so inspired by this phenomenon I wrote an article about it. I just don’t know if I can link that article here.
This is dedicated to Viv who is so good in bringing people together.

I love to take/create photos of things that we normally don’t see or maybe even take for granted. There is just so much beauty even in the most ordinary things like raindrops or the curl of a fern leaf, or even your ordinary egg slicer.

I also love interacting with creative and inspiring people.

And I love challenges! They inspire me!

This is great! 8 ) What type of ants are they?

  • Thanks very much Kerryn!
I think they are some kind of carpenter ants because I sometimes see them piecing leaves together into some kind of nest.

This is truly an amazing shot. The ants seem to be so determined and purposeful, and dare I say, intelligent.

  • Hello Carl,
What a wonderful thing to say!!! Thank you so much!!!
Yes, I was really amazed at how purposeful the ants did their job. It seemed like there was a director or conductor orchestrating their behavior.
