Artist's Description

I don’t see too many of the bumble bees I used to see anymore. They had multiple colours and acted like they would sting you just for being around where they were. This look infinitely scarier and bigger. You’d almost expect to look on its belly and see an hourglass shape! They are also VERY heavy – so heavy that they usually cause flowers to hang upside-down when they grab them to do whatever they are doing. And whatever that is, they do it FAST – never on a single flower more than 2 seconds before buzzing off loudly.

Another oddity about these bees is that they can’t seem to land or take off from the flowers I’ve seen them in without slapping their wings on them – hard. It’s almost like they hold their wings too low after they land and have to smack them on the flowers to get enough wind to take off again. Flying they make a sound like rapidly flapping paper and can make even the bravest guy think about how bad it would hurt if one of these big suckers actually stung you.
