The Historic Governor’s Mansion in Sacramento CA has some rooms you might not expect to find in a regal looking place. Unfortunately, the drapes match the carpet in here. Blue is one of the colours I can identify rather easily so this must be rather brutal on the eyes of the rest of you. Even more unfortunate is the recliner from a bygone era next to a solid silver coffee and tea service. Even I don’t remember these that seemed modeled after formerly futuristic space ship seating. Can you say, “uuuuuuuugg*ly???”*
But finally we come to the TV. Again under a window so someone just LOVES to be blinded while watching during the daytime. This is a slight upgrade from the TV in the other public room but it was still so far behind the times that the Gov wasn’t seeing anything as well as his public was seeing.
The entire concept of how this mansion was run for the highest ranking state official in California befuddles me. Why an old TV? Why upgrade the bathroom with a shower and not make a user-friendly bathtub as well? Wait til you see the kitchen. The horrors culminate in one glaring cascade of decorative disaster. LOL!!!
