suspense!

Yes, she’s in there but not visible from this angle. Even when she was visible, she was in a lower web chamber that was clear of water and impossible to reach without setting off a wet warning. :-)

Shot was taken with the Panasonic TZ4 and within 2.5 inches of some of the webbing. I didn’t want to disturb a trip wire I missed and since this was right outside my apartment door, I didn’t want to find out if this spider knew Sacramento enough to find my address for making a mess…

Great water drops! I don’t even want to look for the spider..

LOL! Thank you and I had the shot with the spider edited and ready for posting but decided against it, partly because of your suggestion: be less literal and more artistic. The spider is safely tucked away out of view. :-D

Great catch, even without the spider.

Thank you but I got the spider. ;-) I just chose to maintain her privacy online. Hehehe!

Absolutely wonderful! I love it! I really like how the branches that frame it are soft. Too bad the spider isn’t there then I could show it to my niece as a teaching tool to understand she doesn’t have to squeal in fear when she sees a spider but she can admire the beauty it creats—of course I don’t want her making friends with the spider, but squealing? I don’t think so… lol

I’ll send you the one with the very pretty spider nestled in it – just as a teaching tool. LOL!

Thank you for the nice words about the shot. :-) I had to do a lot of manual focusing to get the camera to make a sharp shot deeper in the field of view because it wasn’t set for strictly ‘spot focusing’. And when I say ‘a lot’, I mean a LOT cuz the camera will tell you when you have a good manual focus but “good” ain’t “good enough” so I tossed a lot of shots where the border was nice and soft but the subject was rather ‘tubby’ as well. LOL!

    Very lovely capture. Gorgeous droplets.

Thanks! :-D It was one of those sights that caught my attention while walking by because of the bright reflections. I’ve over-shot this subject and I’m acutely aware of it but I loved this one enough to torture the rest of the planet with yet another image of droplets in a spider’s web. I am soooooooooooooooooooooo evil…
