Filigree 2

Just downloaded ChaosPro. Thanks, to SE for the fine recommendation. This is my first effort – or shall I say, the program’s first effort (since I didn’t know SQUAT about what I was doing when just clicking options. LOL!) The program is pretty shocking in its complexity and the results are equally shocking in their beauty. Uh, I sorta forgot to mention the one most important thing up front: this is a fractal and ChaosPro is a fractal creation program.

If you’re interested in grabbing this free program, here’s the link but be patient and try more than one download if the one you get doesn’t work. I wasn’t able to get any of the last 3 versions/updates because they all were bad downloads. The good news is that you can go a long ways down and still get a fantastic program. And if it’s worth me downloading on DIAL-UP, you can be sure it’s well worth the time. LOL!

Very nice! :) Has a fire storm-ish look! You and the program made a rather nice piece together.

Thank you! Only after I uploaded it (over 45 minutes!) did I see that the Microsoft Vista put a silly border on it. It wasn’t seen by me because it blended in because of my colourblindness. And I never asked the computer programming if a silly border was present. I’m still locked out of work so I’ll try to make a WiFi upload of the corrected piece when I go by the free WiFi location today. But if this is a storm of some sort, I do wanna be under it!!!!

    Glowing – lovely work.

Thanks! It will glow a bit more once the dumb border is removed.

I didn’t think the border was dumb. But then, I’m not the artist so it such decisions don’t depend on me! LOL

The border was dumb in the fact that it had nothing to do with the piece, it was another colour, and it will cause chaos in Red Bubble printing if left. It was also dumb in that I know I’m colourblind and should have run the cursor over the piece to see if there were any bizarre observations. I blew it but not as badly as could have. LOL!

I have chaos pro, man it is hard, can you give any advice on it, would be greatly appreciated xxxxxxxx

I know what you mean. So many of the fractal masters are serious mathematicians, geeks, or both. Their instructions start so far over my head that I don’t even know the terms. Geeks need to remember where they’re from and find a way back to it if they’re gonna lead the rest of us anywhere! :-)

ChaosPro is still beyond my understanding but I can mess with it by opening the program and:
    - using the top left drop-down window to open Chaospro.par
    - using the top right drop-down window to open option for presets, such as plasma or myst.
    - click the left set of ‘traffic lights’, the one with the colour on the bottom is a ‘go’ light
    - something happened, tho I can’t tell you what it was. LOL! You’ve got something to mess with using the controls at the top of the program under ‘Windows’ that open palettes on the right had side of the program. Again, what they mean, someone knows but hasn’t bothered to tell ME. LOL! Open something and tweak it. If something bad happens (like your fledgling piece suddenly disappears), you are still OK because the return arrow at the top of the programs takes you right back to where you just were.

The biggest key I can find in making fractals is to find two controls first: the GO button and the GO BACK/UNDO button. Sadly, most of the programs I’ve seen have their GO buttons named so archaically a novice can’t recognize them. Worse, they have NO go back/undo buttons at all. With those programs, especially my favourite now (Incendia), you have to learn from every goof and be careful not to repeat it next time. :-(

If you have a logical or sequential way of thinking, you can get something out of any program. If you don’t, pencil and paper will be vital but will work just as well. Right down what to always do and never do. I suck at math but I can follow a sequence of events well because I’m a musician: songs are nothing but sequences of events. Reading sentences in English is harder than playing Beethoven, Mozart, or INXS. ;-) Good luck!!
