Smrk (the Czech name means ‘spruce’ in English) with its 1124m is the highest mountain of the Jizera mountains in the Czech Republic. For us, a perfect snowshoe tour!
The whole day up the mountain in the snow, we could observe amazingly beautiful natural phenomenon I will remember forever: all the air around us was sparkling in all colours of rainbow! You may see it as very bright particles throughout this photograph.
In the evening, a local guide told us it is called diamond dust, and that it only happens very rarely, maybe just once in several years (unless you’re in Antarctica or somewhere close to, see the Wikipedia link).
