Artist's Description

Kasteel Hoensbroek (Hoensbroek castle) is a watercastle in Limburg, the Netherlands. With its oldest parts dating from around 1360, and rebuilt and expanded in 14th, 17th and 18th centuries (according to Wikipedia), it is one of the largest and most beautiful castles of the Netherlands.

We have visited the castle on a rainy November day, with some short periods of sun breaking through. I have enjoyed inspecting the labyrinth of halls, rooms and corridors, with many beautiful vistas of the castle and its surroundings. Moisture on a window created interesting diffused view.

November 2009. Panasonic DMC-LZ8. Post-processing: (all three parts:) tonality enhancement (due to the misty window, the original capture was quite flat with very low contrast) followed by decrease of saturation to get it back close to the original, perspective correction, crop, making the triptych, noise (correction of jpg artifacts).
