I’ve bought six new IKEA glasses but one of them got broken when I washed it for the first time. Of course, I wouldn’t just throw it away, as well as my daughter couldn’t throw away a Camellia blossom she has found fallen at the ground two days later…
I believe these two imperfect subjects made a perfect combination. What do you think?
April 2008. Canon EOS 300X, Sigma 28-135. Tripod: Manfrotto 055/141RC. Continuous light: Falcon Eyes LHG-500. Placed on a glass plate, seamless background made from a sheet of white paper. Lit from bottom, through the glass plate. Post-processing: levels, desaturation (only to correct white balance), retouch (scratches on the negative), crop.

Beautiful, love the composition. My first thought was frail beauty, think you’ve done a great job.
Fantastic composition, brilliant capture
Fantastic, really love this still life.
it is a great idea, well executed too. i think the flower and broken glass in the front are more appealing somehow than the perfect one in the back. great work.
really like your idea hear, origional and the flower really does give it that final touch. Wonderful!
