Meeting whales in my children's world

I’ve created this collage about two years ago for a thematic contest Fish at fotki.com. Having no photograph of a real fish, and no chance to get one within the deadline, I had to improvise a bit…

I have photographed a plush whale and two dolphins on a blue-green knitted dress (laid in a way to produce “waves”) of my daughter, with a pillow under the dress to support dolphins ;) Later, I’ve modified the background (knitted structure) in GIMP to make its fine structure invisible and added one more whale. Finally, enlarged and used the oilify filter.
