"The Trojan Horse" (charcoal on paper)

You’ve heard the story right? The trojan horse..

So anyway, there’s this dusty red town where a huge industrious steel horse is located. It casts a shadow over the whole town. Some of the people living there don’t mind being in the shadow of this metalic beast and feel protected by it’s bulky majestic frame. They feel that it really is a gift to the people living there, and many of them have grown to actually love the structure. However, there are others in the town who don’t enjoy living in the shadow cast by the iron horse. They want to live more in the sun. To them the horse is not a gift but more a curse.

Sure I paint, but it’s fun to draw analogys from time to time.

wow…I love storytelling through art and this really presents a live world. I like the rust which makes the horse look diseased, almost like a corpse, and the smoke streaming out of the horse’s ears. To me this work makes a real statement about living in an industrial age. I can imagine all the town’s people trudging into the horse’s belly to fuel it every day. Kind of reminds me of Dr Seuss’ The Lorax as an environmental tale as well…and of mambo in terms of its style.

Great image and analogy. Am not so sure how I would feel living under a metallic horses’ shadow….

Mankind has a habit of bringing havoc upon the Earth in the name of progress. He is a slave to money and power.
Some day there will be a new heaven and a new earth, and all greed, sadness, pollution will be gone.
This is a real fine drawing depicting the total disregard for God’s creation, and mankinds bend toward destroying itsself.
    Very nice work!
