Celebrating a Promotion in Rank;

Today I am writing just a poem of Thanks!

My little brother is moving up in Rank!

My brother didn’t have the easist of life growing up in our small town.

Joining the Military was a do or die situation as my brother had gotten himself into some of the worst of things that would make any parents frown.

When my brother was only 5 years old he lost his Mother just a few short days after giving birth to our youngest brother.

He stood proudly alongside our entire family with the siblings still living at home and cousins and sang her sweetest song she loved , and that he had played alonside her at the piano, with enduring love to his Mother.

Not so many years later our Father died due to events that can’t be discussed in a poetic way.

My little brother did what he was told and packed his belongings along with our youngest brothers belongs and moved away from all he had known and everywhere he had loved and played.

As I watched him graduate the U.S.M.C. @ Camp Pendleton, CA USA , his Grandfather was there as well, he was a former Marine who had graduated this same location, 45 YEARS prior. As ll as our own Father who enlisted in 1955 and served through 1961 and also was in the Military Reserves. I can’t tell you what emotions fled my lens of pride.

It was only a few short months I was invited back as he received yet another honor at Camp Pendelton, CA USA in which I was able to come and see him receive another award and this time I got to “sign him out as he was government property” that I was to be returning in the condition I “borrowed him in”, I did so and as we left I am sure my smile was quite wide.

Praying and hoping to celebrate this new “Promotion” my brother has been honored with up close.

Just in case, they don’t sent you to Camp Pendletion, CA USA that’s why I’ve written this Peoetry celbrating so that You know you are Loved whether we celebrate from afar or up close! (..And like I heard from Roland’s Mom’s Funeral I want you to know I tell all You Kids… I LOVE YOU The MOST!…)
