I cancelled all my plans this weekend so that i would stay in and STUDY. Do you think i have started that yet? I’m a shocking procrastinator….and RB doesn’t help! Might try some self portraits this arvo, any tips?

Oooh cool!!! Can’t wait to see them!! :D What did you have in mind? A certain theme?
I always find it helps if I know what I want the outcome to look like! Fun, sexy.. What props have you got? That helps too!
One last thing what software do you use?

Err…..i have no idea. I have a black wig that i could use, so i guess without my whole face in the shot, B&W, prob focusing on one or two features on my face. I also have a clear umbrella that i might cover my face with, but in regards to the outcome I don’t really have a vision yet. I guess in a way i don’t want to look like me. I’m using Picasa atm however i bought Photoshop Elements the other day and haven’t loaded that yet. Wish you were in Adelaide, we could have a lot of fun.

Ok, so I’m thinkin… If you want to.. you could use both those props.. so with the wig on.. Get nude (if you can) put the umbrella in front of you turn knees in and cover bits ;-) and a look of fun/cheeky/shock on your face should top it off! If I know the umbrella you are talking about all those bits should be blurred anyway!
Otherwise if thats a bit too racey…you could just do a head shot with the umbrella, you turning back to the camera with a cheeky/shy look..? Most of the umbrella in the shot..

I use photoshop and would be lost without it! I’ve heard Picasa is pretty good also!

Thank you so much. I will definately take you up on your offer of processing the shot, but i think i have to practice posing a lot first.
I also have to get the courage to get partially “nakey” in front of the camera….
Anyway you’re so kind to help me out, maybe I should just fly to Sydney and have you do all the hard work! :) I really appreciate your support and you have motivated me lots. I’m pleasantly surprised that such a beautiful person is so nice.

You’re sweet Dennis thank you. I think I’d probably feel more comfortable with a professional taking my photos rather than me taking my own…but i will try and warm to the idea. I think I’m also too god damn fussy. How is your busy house?

OH my goodness!!!! It took me AGES to warm to the idea of taking ‘my own photo’ The weirdest feeling! I used to lock myself in the bedroom so my husband and son couldn’t see me!!! now… sometimes I get my son to even help me!! He’s 4 and got an amazing eye for composition!
