Is he a Famous Artist?
I have just found out that my grandfathers brother (who i assume is called my “great uncle”) was IRVINE HOMER.
I had not heard the name before, apparently he was a famous artist?
I have googled him but haven’t really been too successful.
Has anyone heard the name before?

Leia, all I could find was a few references to an Australian folk painter named Irvine Homer, born in 1919 and is still living. You say your great uncle ‘was’ Irvine Homer, so I assume he’s already passed on.

Thanks Tanya, that is him but I’m told he died about 15 years ago in a nursing home. Apparently my father looks a lot like him.

There was an Irvine Homer who was an artist and may have existed around 1919 in Australian. Although, I couldn’t find more to confirm that.
