Yeeeehaaaaaa
Rogue pilots from area 51, take the day off.
I’m not sure if this is the sort of tweaking you had in mind, Resisto, but I couldn’t resist drawing something for that inviting flight path. The “donut / frizzbee” type ufo more common a decade or two ago, has been linked by certain groups to experimental aircraft developed by the Americans afer they had “interviewed” the “high altitude crash test dummy” aliens. Who knows? Anyway it was easier to draw than a Battlestar. :)
Yeeeehaaaaaa belongs to the following groups:
Aeronautics & Aviation, BubbleMania, In the Moment and Sci FiAvailable for sale as Cards, Matted Prints, Laminated Prints, Mounted Prints, Canvas Prints and Framed Prints

Sweet. Looks real too :) Reminds me a little of Douglas Adam’s Hitch Hikers where bored (alien) uni students do stunts like this on unsuspecting planets.

Tom Godfrey, about 1 year ago
Thanks good people – my ego is glowing with all this warm fuzzy feedback. Stephen, I have not yet read the book or seen the movie -how crazy is that. I will have to make an effort now -it’s a sign :). Praise indeed, Veronique, many thanks. I have done a couple of pastel Pelicans but because the Saints Gallery wants to sell them I thought I had better stay away from the print thing. They are on my website if you want to sneek a peek – http://www.tomgodfrey.com. Thanks also Cliff, Meanderthal(it had the same effect on me when I finished it :) chantelle and museumofdirt – I must read your bio, to see if you explain your name.

The title is the clincher. I love it.
Tom Godfrey, 10 months ago
Wow! what excellent feedback to come home to, thanks people. Thanks DoctorJ. I reckon if they are more advanced than us, they will have passed the dangerous ”...little knowledge is dangerous.” phase and thus avoided nuclear devastation and they must surely have recognised the value of humour and fun. Survival, just for its own sake, doesn’t sound like much of a reason to be alive. :) Jessica, photoshopped? not at all -Corelled actually :). Jokes aside the original photo was donated by a member and we were challenged to come up with something. I sliced oval sections from the water then placed them in the sky, after that it was just a case of drawing onto it, imagining reflected colour etc then copying and inverting for the craft reflected in the water. Finally I blurred the area likely to be affected by exhaust heat haze. Took me a whole weekend though :)
thanks also Michael Charlotte and Derid- no fly zone, LOL. I did say they were rogue pilots :) thanks also Trifle and Jewd, so, you know then :) Maximillian- wow! not even my wife ever said that, to me at least :) – my mortal self gives you thanks. Finally, thanks Christiaan and Kimbaross, the title only occurred to me once it was all finished. I like to think it’s just how I would have responded.

Tom Godfrey in reply to JohnScott’s comment, 5 months ago
Hi John
It has throttled right back, so as not to rattle the coffee cups of the twilight sippers along the Yarra :) I guess not more than 200kph at the point I took the photo. (not:)Two seconds before that, about 30000kph :)

I love this – I automatically winced as I imagined the sound and speed of that thing tearing through what looks like a nice respectable well ordered community. That will have had a few folk choking on their evening meals and cocktails. Good work. K
Tom Godfrey, 2 months ago
Thanks mum of Blurt – I was trying to get the sensation of speed and I’m glad to know you picked that up. I like your imagination -picturing the folk choking on meals and cocktails. :) cheers

Wow, I love it! Reminds me of Gary Larson’s—author of the Far Side comics—comics; he has a panel similar to this. It must be a tough life living in Area 51.
Tom Godfrey in reply to Atheum’s comment, about 1 month ago
:) to be even mentioned in the same breath as Gary Larson…wow, praise indeed Antheum. tough on those poor old fly boys, still, it’s only a 10 minute flight to anywhere on the planet so there are compensations :)
