Three Friends cross the Atlip desert

Three Friends cross the Atlip desert

this image started life as a pencil sketch and evolved from there.

The Double-mouthed sailtail generously tows his companion, Blockhead, across the Atlip desert. Blockhead shields Gorff from the watchful eye of the ever hungry Zylap. Their trusty, but aging pumpkin droid, brings up the rear.

I love your fantasy / sci-fi work. Very professional. Do you publish any in print media (ie magazines, books) or just paint for them for fun?

  • Tom Godfrey

thanks Celia, much appreciated. I would like to, but at the moment they have just been for fun. They have been fun to do and totally different to the normal traditional type wildlife painting that I do. See www.tomgodfrey.com if you are interested and you’ll see what I mean.

Your characters are so surreal and interesting. Like Pilgrim said, it feels like there is a whole story behind these three.

Thanks carpenter Dpid -yeh I often wonder where they spring from – most of them start out as scribbles which start to look like something, but they really are intuitive drawings, so I guess Freud would have a few things to say :) I’m kinda glad he is not here to comment -he might just remove the magic :) Thanks also Tanya and banditart.
