Chameleo
Chameleo ripped himself from the cliff face, spun and fired all in one movement.
They had found him, despite his best efforts to blend into the sheer rock precipice. It would be all action now. Ten thousand years he had remained undetected, while probing the depths of the cosmos using hyper meditative travel. His body had remained in suspended animation, while his mind floated freely, gathering information. He was just about ready… then this. What a time to get an itchy nose. That was all they needed…

An itchy nose will get’cha in trouble every time … we have cats, so I know :-) )
Great pic and story!

Sounds like the perfect way to live Tom, all mind and no matter – until one wakes up to reality. I’ve been practicing this hyper meditative thing; my wife didn’t notice any difference. Another brilliant product of your furtile mind Sir.

thanks guys – I did the initial sketch while waiting to pick up my mother in law at the doctor’s and no, I don’t think there is a connection and I don’t want to hear about Freud :)

Very cool Tom, love that story to go with it.

Ah, there is he. I think he’s a little chicken-ish with a bit of hair comb thrown in. He’s just great. And talk about cliff hanger – what was the little devil up to for all those years??
Tom, as a fellow creative, I too have also put time spent in doctors waiting rooms to good use, completing quite a few short stories and, up until recently, a fair amount of literature study!!! Nothing like enforced inactivity to get productive.
And hopefully Chameleo is one for the book!

Your style reminds me of those old illustrations I saw on sci-fi novels from the 1950s and 60s.
It was those old book illustrations that got me interested in sci-fi art as a kid.
