Exodus

Exodus

Abstract realism. I wanted to try to capture a sense of, epic grand scale, with this image. I chose small humanoids against a backdrop of large structures, somehow familiar, yet unfamiliar at the same time, to try to achieve this. The “story” is timeless and is probably played out across the universe in many different guises within a common theme – “Leaving and loss”

Exodus belongs to the following groups:

Alien Worlds and Landscapes, Fantasy Art and Sci Fi Available for sale as

Greeting Cards, Matted Prints, Laminated Prints, Mounted Prints, Canvas Prints, Framed Prints and Posters

WOW ! Great work Tom ! Excellent design !

  • Tom Godfrey replied

Thanks Steve. This really was an intuitive one -no preplanning sketch. I just scribbled around until something emerged. Nice when they work :)

Abstract realism! I like that and think I know just what you mean Tom. I’m trying to define it but it’s not easy. Perhaps 3D solid shapes of no recognisable form is the nearest I can get. This gives me the feeling I could get in there and walk around, the life-forms giving it scale and reference. Nice one Master.

  • Tom Godfrey replied

thanks for your thoughtful and inciteful comment Brian. I always look forward to seeing what you come up with and I agree. I wanted to create the feeling of huge structures made by sentient beings, but with an “other-worldly” feel.

This is not only a splendid fascinating image, it’s a concept that could be very educational as an assignment or challenge because it would require great introspection, but the elements could be such a vast variety of things.

  • Tom Godfrey replied

Thanks Syd, a very considered and thought provoking comment. It’s great to feel that there is a mystery and magic out there, and to be able to capture a little of that in an image is cool. Thanks again.
