Shrunken Head Fred
Poor old Shrunken Head Fred
It took 20 a day
to kill his looks, dead
Perfectly preserved
His face all ashen
The Cigarette Barons
Were the only ones to cash-in
It happened so slowly, that he felt no pain
His face all twisted
His grimace
Insane
Still, look on the bright side
He says
Smiling again
I get to spend my days
On a smoker’s
Key chain.

Maybe I should put a picture of Fred on my keychain.

Great work, Tom. And I love your poetry. I have to say, that poem is Bill Watterson-ish. Two cartoonists you remind me of!!! :-)
Tom Godfrey
double thanks Atheum. I would like to get into writing and illustrating children’s books, so I’m trying to sharpen my skills here in bubbleland :) I hope to get a sense of where I’m at, from the comments received, so I really do appreciate the feedback. Many thanks
