i took your suggestion and listened to “higher ground” while viewing this.
enjoyed ity very much while my eyes danced about your beautiful work, Lee.

  • Thanks Carlos, its a great track isn’t it?

Often I will listen to a song over and over again while I’m working, but in this case I did the collage in relative silence and then went looking for a song which would compliment it. Since I’ve been called both a “rare animal” and “a strange creature” this past week…I tried to find a song about extinction or endangered species, but didn’t find anything suitable. I searched for songs which had the word “cat” in them….but still nothing. Finally, since it is a picture of a cat alone in the city…I searched for “city”….and found the Stevie Wonder song, “Living For The City”. Cool, I thought…..but after listening to it a few times I decided nah…not really the mood I wanted to convey. Had a look at the rest of the album and bingo – HIGHER GROUND – of course!! That is exactly what a cat would do if it were under threat from flood or the city closing in around it….it would look for higher ground.

For some reason I would not have been able to put this piece aside if I had not found its “companion” song. I’m glad you enjoyed it.

i thought the cat has a tear but his colors and mostly ,his golden eyes looking to higher grounds make me think that he will dry this tear soon :)
