Thanks Matt. This portrait and quote combination was suggested by a potential customer on eBay. I hope she comes back to buy it! I’m pretty sure it will sell regardless. Legions of Bukowski fans out there.

I could see both of these pieces hanging in a museum somewhere, along with a collection of manuscripts, typewriters, broken bottles, and tattered postal gear, all having once belonged to Bukowski. It’d make a great exhibit. I’d go see it.

  • Lee Wilde replied

Thank you so much, what a wonderful thing to say. There was a documentary on him on SBS last week which was absolutely fascinating. After seeing that I hit google and have been obsessed with him all week. In fact, I’m beginning to feel the itch to start writing poetry again myself.

    Thanks Rhonda and Carliss :-)

Talkingwatermelon (hahahahaha)....um…yeah the hair turned out well. Actually not a lot of detail when you look up close. Sort of an optical illusion I’ve taught myself to do with hair.

Great image. Do you draw around the text or add it afterwards?

  • Lee Wilde replied

Hiya. Thanks. I did the text last, using a General’s white charcoal pencil. I still don’t understand how there can be white charcoal…but nevertheless, its great to write with.
