OMG Leanne, I couldn’t get this shot into my faves quick enough. This is probably one of the best macros I’ve seen.Stunning.
I can’t stop looking at it!!!!!!!! LOL
Cheers Andrew : ) It’s one of my faves!
It’s a bugger that it’s such a small file, but I’ve only got the one lens a 17-85mm, which is not ideal for a macro shot! A 70-300mm & a macro lens are on the list, along with a decent tripod etc etc! lol!
Thanks Shaz : )
This is just gorgeous Leeo, love it! I just bought myself a macro today, can’t wait to start using it
You did this with a 17-85mm? Nice work!! The colours are divine!!! Not to mention the details!
One of your best Leanne! Beautiful colours and detail.
Hey Leanne, I’ve got a Tamron 90mm macro lens and it’s very sharp. Medusa was taken on my 5D with the Tamron and has had very little sharpening applied in PS. I’ve also used a Canon 100mm macro and it too is very sharp and focuses alot faster then the Tamron which is an issue because they also make lovely portrait lenses (both of them). If you are talking about canon’s 70-300 f4 5.6 mk111 “consumer” lens, think again. It’s a very cheap piece of junk. Don’t waste your money. I had the mk 11 version years ago in my film days on an eos 500 and it was rubbish and they say the mk11 is better than the mk111.The resolution of the 400D is way above the optical capabilities of the 70-300 so you won’t be getting the best out of your camera with rubbish glass.Think Canon 70-200 f4 L IS if you can afford it. It will be around $1500 but worth every penny and if you stick with Canon you will have it forever. It will also fit on a full frame size camera like the 5D, so when everything moves to full frame (I’m pretending to be a prophet here LOL) you won’t have a bag full of useless lenses!Canon L glass really is that much better!I hope I haven’t spoken out of turn, I just don’t like seeing people waste their money. And I still can’t stop looking at this shot!!! :)
OOOOPS! Don’t know what happened there, but you can still read it!
