Well, the secret about the new Ferris Bueller teaser is out: it’s going to be a crummy Honda commercial, gang. Personally, I want Matthew Broderick and co. to make buckets of money, but if all we get is a car commercial rehashing classic scenes from the original movie, I don’t think any amount of clever writing and directing can make it cool enough to pass muster. I’ll watch it when it comes out, but frankly, I’d rather they just did oodles of product placement in a proper sequel. That teaser was premise enough in itself, really. I could write a sequel based on Ferris being a grown-up wanting a day off of work, dammit!
Anyway, here’s my curmudgeonly tee shirt. It took almost no time at all to make, since I found out Adobe’s Gill Sans font is the perfect Ferris font. As such, I’d give it away for free if I could afford the outlay, but I can’t, so feel free to buy it and wear it proudly if you care like I do for the sanctity that is the original John Hughes masterpiece.
