Gracious water
Glide over the thin folds of my eyes.
As I float …
Free my spine, so
I may embrace
The delicate manoeuvring
Of each vertebrae.

Let me hear the hum
Of my breath
From within,
Until all else is silenced.

Carry me to a moment on the seam
Of today and tomorrow.
As the light bounces
Off these blank walls
May I BE
With myself.
Safely submerged.

For beyond that door
There are people
With outstretched fingers
Waiting to laugh
At the imperfections
I will expose.

So, gracious water
I ask you
To hide me
In your fluidity.
And drown me
In your bliss.
For in your gentle cleanse
I exist.
