I haven’t seen an owl in 27 years so I am unable to express my joy finding this Northern Hawk Owl yesterday.

Great capture Lee-Anne. Where abouts did you find him?

Well, it still leaves much to be desired but I did all I could given his roost and the sun’s position. I actually was able to get underneath him to get closer but the pov left some to be desired. I won’t complain much though because I finally saw one! Surprised it was a Northern Hawk Owl too… I think he is slightly out of his range. Pure happenstance brought me to him. I was out looking for otters and there he was… just where I would least expect him. What an absolute joy!!! I am still on cloud nine! (Sorry for being so long winded). xo

  • Hahaha, as much as I would like to concur, um, no! LOL. I would love to see these beauties much more often… once every 10 years would be nice. Hehe. :)

Lol! I knew you’d find one sooner or later Lee-Anne, well done, nice shot! We had one of these as a rare visitor on the Island last year.

  • Well you knew more than I did! LOL. I probably won’t see another for 27 more years! Dang… I am owl thirsty now. I went back today (stupidly) knowing full well he was just passing through. I remain thankful. xo
