I did this design for 2 reasons….

First, I have become a huge fan of Otl Aicher. Aicher was the head of the design team that created the graphics for the 1972 Summer Olympic Games in Munich Germany. The simplicity of the pictograms defined the term ‘Universal Language’ and have become the basis for public signs all over the world.

Second, the first 3 weeks of July is the only time of year I do any television watching. I will be during that time watching le Tour de France. This is the second of my tributes to probably the greatest annual sporting event on the planet.

Brian Carson is a full time student of both the photographic & digital arts and is living in Toronto, Canada. His attempts to become a real photographer / digital artist are documented on his photoblog / portfolio / gallery, The Learning Curve Photography. He considers himself lucky to have one wife, one daughter, one dog and two cats who tolerate him chasing them around with his camera in an attempt to capture the ’ One Perfect Shot ’.
