Bush Thick Knee

Leanne Nelson

LARA, Australia

Artist's Description

Also known as Bush Stone Curlews, these birds are threatened in Victoria. They live and breed in grass and bushland, where they feed on small lizards, insects, frogs and sometimes mammals. When disturbed they have the strange habit of freezing mid-motion often resulting in bizarre poses.
