Artist's Description

Sometimes, when walking through a grocery store, sitting in a park, or watching children play outside, you catch a glimpse of a child whose eyes tell a story. This boy in particular (the nephew of a friend), sat alone on the steps of the front porch while the other children played. I had always noticed the haunting energy that his eyes held. We had convinced him to go fishing off the dock since he would not play with the other children. He reluctantly tried it. He had never fished before and when he caught his first fish, his expression remained blank. I told him and his Uncle to get ready for a picture. He still never smiled. Upon uploading the pictures, this one haunted me, and still does whenever I look at it. I always wonder what his eyes could have been telling me the day I took this photo.
