Breath of Light
It breathes into
Suffuses, encompasses, shines
While we catch its brilliance in all that grows
Beneath the rays it so kindly offers
Bystanders to a majesty unremitting
Whether birch, moss or fern
Our eyes soak in some kind of awe
Reaching deep into the soul
Where light so wants to live
Mighty, clandestine yet ever so known
We walk into its storehouse
Companions to giants that surround us
As if we dare only stay awhile
Invited forever
Home to birds and all who nestle beneath outstretched arms
And then we leave
Looking so tenderly behind us
Grateful we could visit
This awesome breath of light
That feeds so many and seems to make sense of all
Growing our spirit
Refining our life
Ever seeking to inform
Our sometimes shallow life
With the message of light itself – where our being finds its greatest rest

Oh Beatrice – you are so kind and I am so glad to be getting to know you and your work – what a delight! Thank you so much. I finally got into the painting zone last night after overdetailing the work and then wiping out the detail and simplifying.I am glad you caught the serenity – just what I was after:-)

Gosh Leslie….this really turned out so nice. It has such a soft feel to it. You have inspired me as I am hoping to do Lucinda’s birch trees if she agrees to it. I just love that soft blue coming from the ground. Great finish!!
