pastels on colourfix paper
I have begun to sojourn outside to paint in the beauty of nature. What a joy and challenge it is. This is a pastel work of the lake at the Irvine Regional Park where one can wander around among the 100 year old oak trees, ducks and peacocks!. I have posted a picture of the spot from which I was painting and you can see I took a lot of “creative license” with color and composition. This is my first plein air pastel work and it will not be the last – I love painting out of doors. We had unusual nearly 100 degree weather today but it was lovely!
