Our majestic buddy “Bugle Boy” looking back at us as he reached the top of the hill – near Winslow Hill viewing area.
Sept/Oct is the time to visit Elk County, Pennsylvania to hear the bugle of the bull elk!!! The best viewing times are morning and evening, but they do roam around during the day.
This handsome guy was so elusive, but with the help of a local elk “expert” that we met, we found this bull elk hiding in the woods along Winslow Hill Road. We heard him bugle just before we came face to face with this guy in the woods. Many of the Elk are somewhat tame and some have names…. but the bull elk can be aggressive during mating season. Elk can be seen just about anywhere at the designated viewing areas, along the roads and in front/back yards.
