Hector Falls (mid-section) along Route 414, 2.5 miles north of Watkins Glen, New York – taken 6/19/10. Wild crown vetch in the foreground.
Hector Falls is a 165 ft tiered cascade waterfall in 3 sections. You can only see the top third from the road. Most of Hector Falls can be seen from Seneca Lake.
I was fortunate to stay at a place with a private path to the mid-section of the falls. It was like having your own private waterfall. I spent several hours there lounging, taking pictures and watching the sunset over Seneca Lake. The place where I stayed was a “fixer upper”, but the natural scenery was worth it!!
Natural color and light – very minor tweaking
