GORGEOUS, Lori!!!!! Yours are GREEN??? Ours are brown … at least the ones I’ve seen lately are. Have a funny story .. when Rich (my son) was in school in Lynchburg VA, he would frequently take the top off his Jeep and leave it open. As the nights would get cool … stinkbugs would crawl inside and spend the night. LOTS of stinkbugs!!!! He was NOT happy about it!!!!! This is a fabulous macro, hon … wonderful detail … and the colors are sooooo gorgeous!!!!!!!!

Thanks Lois! Funny story… we have brown ones too. I don’t know if they really stink? Maybe if you crush ‘em!

LOL!!! I pride myself on my good nose (can’t see or hear but I can smell, rofl) ... and Rich swears they stunk up his car something awful!!!! LOL!!! But you might be on to something … I don’t know if he carefully removed them one at a time or just started swiping at them (thus crushing them???)

Great colours & detail Lori. I remember as a youngster picking mulberries in the backyard & putting one in my mouth only to discover that there was a stinkbug on it. I’ll never forget it. A lesson in look before you leap/eat. With such a great defence system it’s no wonder they’ve spread around the world.

  • ldeiter78 replied

Great story!! Thanks Michael. We often pick wild blueberries – I’ll think of you before I eat them!!

I’m glad you called it a Stinkbug….They have another name and I got hauled over the coals for calling them Stink bugs….I had them in an old car years ago,I’d used the car to transport tree cuttings, and they loved my car more than trees!!!..It was a smelly event driving from then on, they release a chemical when threatened or crushed, which tastes foul and smells off…I’ll dig out the name.

  • ldeiter78 replied

I see these all the time where I live, but never smelled one, and I will avoid that!!!
