Though we all dream,
Of a time when war won’t be,
We must never forget,
That freedom isn’t free.
Even the GOD, who forever reigns,
Paid a costly price to give freedom to you and me.
He died on a cross of pain,
Because He knew, freedom wasn’t free.
That priceless debt He paid,
So the whole world could see,
That from the time all things were made,
Freedom was never free.
There are those who violently protest war,
And fight against the defenders of our land.
Would they be so brazen in their roar,
If freedom wasn’t in their hands?
Who knows best of all and all too well?
It’s the ones who fought in the air, on land or sea,
And, also, the families of those who fell.
They know that freedom really isn’t free!
Yes, we must always pray for peace,
But we can’t forget those who fought for you and me.
Their constant vigil will never cease,
Because they know that freedom just isn’t free.
