Strange the way it took one spectre, to free me from the grip of another.
Haunted in The Infinitide, I carried your flag across the battlefields of as many worlds; in The Billion Years War.
Far across the endless vast; in this universe and countless adjacent. I served my sentence with distinction; in note that I danced the line between honour and disgrace as precarious, and frequently as I did sally forth across The Line itself.
The war will never end. Else existence endeth with it. A fact hid carefully from the untold tally of souls enlisted. Some willing, others not, many more unconscious or ignorant of the facts; upon either side of The Great Divide.
I have earned my freedom.
In the twilight of this gorgeous world, I’ve escaped to a different madness. As your image fades from beleaguered mind, I smile in want for the future. As the Goddess’ second coming looms upon brilliant horizons; the bright black heavens high above now signal only hope.
