'What I Am [Yet to be Seen]'

It took ten-thousand lifetimes
to piece this back together.
The final shard I only found
within this fleeting year.

Memories and dreams
that I once thought
were not my own;
flashed before my waking eyes
and soul when I would sleep.

Frag-ment-ed are messages
scattered far and wide,
within the light and sound;
that drape this frame of instance.

There are so many things within;
that I can-not trans-late.
Traces of the truth that I know,
you feel just as I do.

Though that is not for me to say,
it took these scars to see that;
the re-flections of this old-war
within the days-gone-down,
have seen me back here to my feet;
my con-victions re-sound.

Now I see the beauty
of the end’s incessant march,
the race-to-reclaim what I am;
before I reach the light.

Now I smile at this place,
I once saw behind-bars.
I yearn now for the far horizons
knowing deep-within,
that if we’re not to meet again
before we reach the line,
that you’ll be there when I return;
our home outside-of-time.
