'Rainfall'

A scattered hiss.
my attention caught;
a damp breeze,
dances seductively through
the open window.

Falling from the ashen canopy,
into the velvet depths;
a cascading torrent of change.

The days go down.
A howling gale prevails,
singing into the nights;
echoes from the desert.

I will not despair.
For I am ascendant.
I shall be one.

I love that which,
so many others shun;
the beauty of melancholy.

Rain to cleanse my soul.
Love to keep me grounded.
Faith in the path apparent.

Some would fear the storm;
but I’m thinking of progress.
