From beneath ornate arches in the flowering gardens, on the southern banks of the river of light; to the gentle slopes of the regal memorial grounds. Where trees spring forth in abundant life; in honour of liberty’s fallen soldiers.
My mind has wandered.
Past the monastery, commemorating the concept of a fabricated deity, from whom I turned as a mere child; I wonder at the powers whose flag I carried through space and time, across a thousand worlds in the pitched battle to restore balance.
Beyond years laden with thoughts of the little goddess who healed my beleaguered soul in the most unlikely fashion; I come to thoughts of settlement. Consolidation in the name of stability. Open-minded peaceful progress for the sake of redemption. Preparation necessary for the cause of the greater good. That which you oft mistake for the future.
The arcing lines of my brothers’ paths are entwined about my own. I wish them well from distant shores ’til I see them again. I breathe in deeply for the billionth time, as I find myself wearied once more; but such is the price I gladly pay to save some from the foe.
I know tomorrow waits for me with smiles yet unknown; and marvel at serenity, bestowed in lee of growth.
