" KATARINA " new version
colour pencil (PRISMACOLOR) and soft pastel (MUNGYO) on paper , size 10×15 inches (25,4×38 cm)
Katarina is my youngest daughter … drawing was finished on her 8 th. Birthday (20/January/2008)
started on the sweater with coloured pencils … (what a pain that was) , took me a long time , because the sharp edges between the different colours …
I wanted to use soft pastels on the rest of the picture … , I guess I have a lot to improve on that … so later I changed her face with coloured pencils … (thanks to the “workable fixatif”) , wich I don’t recommend to use on finished drawings/pastels , I ruined some of my pieces with that … anyways , the “New version” shows her face with pencils , only the backgroud and most of her hair remained pastels …
cheers ,
Laz

How charming!! Love the Bobby Jack!!! I really love the softness in the material and you have indeed captured the expression so very well. Colors are perfectly blended. Beautiful work.

amazing. You are gifted!
Thanks for the tip on workable fixitive! what do you suggest for finishing pencil/pastels? I used workable fixitive on ‘Evangeline” at the end and it looked so vibrant then it dryed, and went dull so I had to touch up the white pencil again.
