Two Blue Jays, surprisingly calm and willing to share the seeds that I left out for all my bird friends on the crusted surface of the snow.
FEATURED IN THE ’CEE’S FUN ARTSY FRIENDS’ GROUP FEBRUARY 2010
snow, peace, seeds, meal, share, lavendermoon, blue jays
Awesome! How do you get so close? These fly away instantly at the hint of movement! XXSUEXX
They were just outside the window and the 300mm lens did the rest of the reach… and I was purty sneaky… : ) Thank you, Sue!
great composition and wonderful moment
Thank you, Nicola.. I got lucky with these two!
Thank you, Monica! Great to see you!
You must have amazingly awesomely clean windows wanna come and do mine?? love this makes you wonder what they were talking about
They had actually just shared a seed.. remarkable for jays… I missed that moment by a split second and they never did it again while they were out there… clean windows…!!! If you only knew! Thanks, Rebecca… very kind comments… : )
I was just thinking how clean your windows must be too! Beautifully sharp (clean) shot!
Thank you, Felicity! But that window is full of water drop marks from the melted snow.. and I can’t get out to clean it because the snow is right up against the kitchen door and I can’t open it, since it opens on to a roof… have to wait for it to melt… !!
Mexican stand-off … sharing or ready to dispute? no matter, a charming and fortunate captured moment in nature’s playground …
Thank you, CM! They had just shared a seed.. and I missed that shot by a mere fraction of a second… I thought they were just going to fuss as they usually do…
An instant fave. This is wild life photography at its very best.xx
Sometimes your compliments just blow me away, Anna… thank you so much for your supportive self!
Beauty shot, Robyn! Very, very nicely done! “Surprisingly calm” is right. I don’t think I’ve seen Bluejays cooperating before!
Me either, Mike.. and now I am kind of wondering if they were ‘family’ or mates, perhaps, because I have no idea what the female jays look like in comparison to the males.
Awesome capture my friend!! ;-))
Thank you, Steph! They made this one kind of easy for me.. : )
Nice close-up.But really, Blue Jays sharing? The next thing you’ll surprize us with will be a photo of the Dalai Lama at an Iranian pep rally!:-)
Hahaha! Yeah.. they shocked me, too! Ya ding-a-ling… : )
