Cadaverous Assembly by

We had an amazingly spring-like day here on November 9, 2009. It was sunny and warm with crystal-blue skies. About two and a half miles from my home, as I was driving to work, I found this old, apparently dead tree. I looked up at it and saw no less than nineteen buzzards congregated in it. I thought it an unusual and unnappealing sight on such an otherwise lovely morning.

Would make a great comedic birthday or anniversary card… : )

Great shot, Robyn. Quite the congregation!

Yes they are! We had about 10 of them circling in the woods just behind my sister’s place the other day. They were diving down every now and then. Rather creepy. Didn’t really feel like investigating!

  • I had never seen one until I came to the east coast… up until then, only in cartoons… the real thing is far more sinister and hideous. I hesitated getting out of my car for the shot!

Rest assured – they only go after dead things!

Bet they’re daring each other to go to sleep first. “I thought you were dead, honest …”

  • Hahahaha!
