I have been leaving food out for this little chipmunk… and he had just been tussling with a second one for rights to the stash. While the haggling and chasing were still going on between the rival chipmunks, this squirrel sidled up and helped himself to the spoils.

Not long after, one of the arguing ‘munks came back for the food and found that he had been duped… I think the squirrel had a deal with the second chipmunk to distract the first. But I’ve heard it’s a menial reward for your work… the squirrel will pay you peanuts…

(The pink ‘blur’ in the forefront is the fluffy bloom of an amethyst Astilbe that I couldn’t dodge from my only angle.)
