I’ve been watching these pine cones as they have been growing. This one is about the size of my thumb now, a week ago about the size of my pinky finger. They are extremely sticky… as you can see the sap oozing from several of the little cone fins, a large drop developed at the end, but I don’t think it’s going to fall off, as it is very heavy and gummy. The cones really are this purple right now, too. And I love the color of the new pine sprigs. And check out the spidey web…

It is under this tree that I found the two fungi I posted as ‘Fun Guy’.
