Max was our ‘charismatic’ cat. You never knew where he would turn up – in an open drawer, a cupboard, on top of a roof, etc. When we walked our dogs on the leash – Max followed freely behind (generally about 20 paces) – if we stopped to see if he was following, he would stop in his tracks & commence walking when we did. And so it went, all the way around the block ;)…. But his most unusual habit was leaping on to the shower rod from the vanity & he accomplished this feat often & with great skill (never landing in the tub! (thank goodness! :)) Proof of his actual leap from the vanity is shown above. Whenever he was found sitting on the vanity focusing on the shower rod – you knew he was psyching himself up for the leap….& he was totally focused. It occurred so often, that I wanted a shot of the leap. There was no motor drive on my film camera in those days to fire off 3 frames/sec… this was the image that resulted. Other images & a tribute to Max is below….He was truly a great cat ;)

- a photo essay including this image (and others – see below) was published in Cat Fancy magazine years ago (July/94)

He reminds me of Skeeter when he was a good bit leaner lol. He would perch on top of a 1 3/8" door. But definitely not the shower door :)
